Dr. Ballantine-Jones, CEO of DigiHelp Publishing, completed his PhD at Sydney University’s Faculty of Medicine, researching ways to mitigate the negative impact of pornography and sexualised social media behaviours on adolescents. Through his work with DigiHelp and Resist Ministries, he equips schools and faith communities with practical strategies to support youth in navigating the online space safely and healthily.

Joining him is Dr. Rachel Hogg, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Charles Sturt University, whose research focuses on stress and trauma, gendered experiences in clinical psychology, and youth intimate partner violence. She brings a regional perspective to discussions on consent, coercive control, and the impact of social media on identity and relationships.

    About the Talk

Hear from guest speaker, Rhys Bezzant, as he explores the challenging question of how the good life is to be pursued in our fractured world.
Discover how, in a postmodern world where the local is more important than the universal, issues of sexuality cut to the core of how we think about personal identity. Yet in this same world, our experiences of anxiety and anomie have caused many to reconsider how we should construct our expectations of intimacy, meaning, and purpose.
In this talk, Rhys Bezzant will reflect on his own experience as a same-sex attracted Christian, along with the opportunities that attend his own path of sacrifice.
